Guinness 200th Anniversary Export Stout

Beer: Guinness 200th Anniversary Export Stout
Availability: Widely available
Price: $8.99 for a six-pack
Appearance: dark-red, nearly black, with khaki head
Aroma: roasted malts, light chocolate, dried fruits
Taste: Brewed in Ireland with Black Patent malt, this stout is rich with roasted flavor. Forward flavors are dark bread and burnt toast; there also is a touch of blackberries and currants. This beer fits right between, in flavor and profile, original Guinness and Guinness Foreign Extra. The malt lends a bitterness that cuts nicely across the lingering chocolate finish. Like all Guinness stouts, this one is very smooth, even though it is carbonated, not on nitro. At 6 percent alcohol by volume, it's not a boozy stout, as many American craft brewers produce.
